Monologues
for Women, by Women, edited by Tory Haring-Smith, first appeared
almost three decades ago in the USA. We present to you carefully
selected pieces, each representing a unique woman’s voice expressing
a moment of her experience.Our group found these pieces relevant
in the paucity of women’s scripts in India that spoke boldly
and
with humour, however dark at times. We are encouraged to hear Indian
women begin to express themselves in individual voices and we hope
to encounter many such scripts with multiple regional flavours. This
collection will find resonance with those of us who are committed to
celebrating women, who share of themselves unabashedly and with
authenticity
in voices bold and clear.
