We often hear that people renounce mundane pleasures and give up worldly pursuits. But why? Come and discover...
Jainism has a rich tradition, culture and history of renunciation. Understanding the philosophy and deep spirituality that is associated with renunciation will enable one to realize bliss in the here and now even though one has not yet renounced material aspects.
Dr. Priyadarshana Jain, a practicing Jain has a Master’s, M.Phil and Ph.D in Jainism, and is Professor and Head of the Department of Jainism, Madras University.She has authored, translated and edited books related to Jainism and presented papers at National and International conferences and seminars.

The most recent one in May 2014, being the Distinguished Achievement Award for Political Economy in the 21st Century by the World Association of Political Economy.
Marking the 200th birth anniversary of Karl Marx, Prof. Athreya will simplify for us The Father of Marxism, referring to his noted works Capital and the Communist Manifesto.
